1114 Spectrum Gold Rain Glaze, Cone 5

This glaze is lead free, but exceeds the threshold limit for various raw oxides in the liquid unfired state and therefore are not non-toxic.

Unlike Spectrum’s other mid-range glazes, these Metallics prefer Cone 5 specifically and require a thick application to create the metallic effect.

We recommend three to four heavy coats.

1114 Gold Rain is formulated to be very soft in order to allow it to break. It will run to an extreme degree when applied to vertical surfaces and should be primarily used on flat surfaces.
